Somethings you may want to check out during your Top End experience:

Waterfalls to inspire

  • Jim Jim falls - Jim Jim Falls (Aboriginal name Barrkmalam) is perhaps the Northern Territory's (let alone Kakadu National Park's) most spectacular waterfall. Set in the red ochre of the Arnhem Land escarpment, and boasting white sandy beaches and crystal clear water, it is worth the 900 metre walk across rocks to appreciate this special area.
  • Twin falls - One of the world renowned icons of the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. Try catching a glimpse of the timid Freshwater Crocodile basking in the sun or spot a Pig-nosed Turtle in the clear water of the creek. Take a break and enjoy a freshly prepared picnic lunch on the white sandy beach beside the magnificent Twin Falls.
  • Gunlom Gunlom Falls at Waterfall Creek, formerly known as UDP falls, was one of the backdrops for the film "Crocodile Dundee". It is on a tributary of the South Alligator River in the south of Kakadu National Park. Located on Waterfall Creek in World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, has a waterfall and plunge pool, with shady gums cooling the picnic areas.
  • Florence falls - The spectacular Florence Falls, found in Litchfield National Park, cascade into a plunge pool, set in a pocket of monsoon forest. Take a refreshing dip in the plunge pool, then enjoy a scenic walk to the viewing platform high above the Falls, which affords panoramic views of the open valley and the waterhole below.

Rockholes to relax

  • Gubara - Gubara is a six kilometre return walk past sandstone cliffs to shady monsoon forest pools. Gubara is found nine kilometres in on the first road to the right after the Nourlangie carpark.
